    Hello,

    I need your help.

I have a G3 Desktop at work with OS 8.5 (german version). There seems
to be some weird keystroke combination that opens some kind of a
command line window, a rectangular field with a ">" at the upper left
corner where I can enter text into. No other objects are available
    when this window pops up.

What is this window good for, and more urgently, how do I close it so
    I can continue my work?

    Thank you in advance,
    Sascha

That's the mini-debugger. You should be able to type G and press return
    to resume.

    it's a low level debugger.
type G [enter] to leave it
The key combination is [command]-power key on suitiably equipped machines,
some machines also have a button somewhere on the casing ( i recall that
on some machines it was at the front of the casing so the keyboard could
bang against it if you were unlucky.)
