Don't do this in newsgroups, please! Set Outlook Express to use "TEXT
    ONLY".

i would like to know if you have to upgrade from 8.0 to 8.1 then 8.2 and
so on or can you jump from 8.1 to 9.1 or X ?
If you have a complete 9.1 installer, it is not necessary to install all previous versions before.

and can you go backwards from 8.1 to 7.1 ?

Yes, but it's not easy. Why should you want to do this?

some people say that running os7 is faster than running os9.1

thanks for the reply and sorry about the last email

I wouldn't recommend OS7. OS9 is at least still widely supported while
OS7 is historic. Of course OS7 is faster but certainly not
    better.....it's the same as using a P4 to run windows 3.1 :-/

Anyways, for your machine I'd recommend OS9. You won't be dissapointed
when you buy a G5 and start using OSX. If you do purchase a G5 make
sure you get 10.3 with it (Panther). I heard that for the first while
Jaguar might still be preloaded no them (which is 10.2).
