• I've been given an old G3 - how do I find out what it is capableof?

I've been given a second hand G3 with OS 9. On the back it says:

    PowerPC G3 512K Cache
    32MB/4GB/24xCD-ROM.

Unfortunately I was given the wrong mouse (a 3 button one with PS2
connector), so although it fires up and looks good, I can't navigate
around it to find out what exactly it has inside.

Unless of course someone here can tell me how to navigate OS 9 using the keyboard, or tell me what kind of mouse I really need. I am a total
    novice with OS 9.

    Thaks in advance.

Does it also have a model number or family number? That'll help us pin
    down exactly what you have.

Is it a tower-type machine, or a flatter desktop machine?

If it's an old Mac, you need an Apple (or third-party) mouse with an ADB connector. Look and see if you have a port on the back (or wherever)
    that looks like this:

If so, that's an ADB connector and that's the kind of mouse you need.
Easily found on eBay and elsewhere. m.
