Someone please HELP. I need my connection back... Jim
Has someone changed the config on the WiFi access point so that your MAC address is no longer known? Or have you changed computers and not
entered your new Mac's MAC address into the WiFi access point?
not that I know of... or not intentionally anyway. Are you referring to
a config of a MAC address setting in the router or in one... or both of
the computers connected to the router (one Wifi and one ethernet?
The problem started with a Belkin 7230-4 and Belkin sent me a
replacement 7230-tt4 which has exactly the same problem. The initial
problem was that I could not connect to any other computers on my small network by name but could connect by IP address. One thing that I have
done (from a suggestion) is to add entries in the hosts file for each of
my computers that I want to connect to ie: "192.168.22.88 G3PowerPC". Initially this allowed me to connect to server computer by name but was
only one direction... I could not see OS X computer in OS 9.2.2 Chooser.
Now neither having the entries in the OS X hosts file nor taking them
out makes any difference... Jim
