I have a tcp/ip network at home with a wired router serving my dhcp, an
airport express extending that to wireless, and another switch to
provide more connectivity in the living room. I previously had my
laserwriter connected to my windows pc because it has a parallel port.
Sharing just about anything between windows and mac has always been
    less than inviting.
I recently received a parallel to usb cable, but the printer doesn't
want to show up on my airport express. As you can see in the below link
the printer does have a AUI-15 connection. Is it still possible to get
a device that'll drop the AUI-15 "ethernet" connection onto a modern
tcp/ip network or is there another way to approach this that I haven't
    looked at?

My guess is that any grown-up university or established research
institution that had a computer network in the eighties or early
nineties should have dozens of these gathering dust in their storage
cabinets and would be happy to give them away.

I am not surprised that it doesn't show up on the Express, though - Bonjour/Rendezvous is far too new for that old workhorse. But wired to a
net and with an IP address it should work (even AppleTalk still works
for printing in Tiger). Remember there is no point getting anything
faster than 10 mbps for it.
