    I did a little more research...here is the question another way:

    Can I use an os9.1 iBook as a target disk on an os10.2 pBook?

    Yes. Easily. i do this all the time, to move files onto and off of my iBook.

    You just need a FireWire cable, nothing more.

    When in target disk mode the computer behaves as an external firewire hard disk. The contents of the computer or what it is connected to are
    irrelevant.
