Well, gradual slow-down in the course of successive OS updates... The G4
came with OS X.1, so until today
there have been many major and minor updates piling up.
Of course after each update there is some "optimization" but this might not
be complete.
Also, I have a feeling that the OS updates install some system features that
I don't necessarily need.

Hi all,
I need to optimize my PB G4-OS X.4 as it has become quite "heavy" with
successive OS updates and installation
of softwares. Is there a good "how-to" around ?
A few ideas :
- Which system processes are useless and might be remoed? Or started only
when useful ?
- Which processes might be waiting for some response (from page in,
network,
web, other process, ...) ?
- Which processes are remnants of old software that was incompletely
removed
?
- Which processes start up automatically and instead might be started on
demand ?
Thanks for any inputs !

Counter-question: What actual problem are you seeing for which you would
like a solution?

"Congurutulation!!!" - The subject line on some spam I received recently.
I have no idea what it means, but it's such a cool "word" (by which I mean pronouncable sequence of letters) regardless.
