Hi all,
the situation:
*nix box with a ssh server where I want to connect via sftp.
Has the following path: /usr/libexec/open-ssh/sftp-server
macbookpro:
with the file: /usr/libexec/sftp-server
Now, if I try to connect to the linux box via a simple sftp I got an
error that say:
bash: line1: /usr/libexec/sftp-server: No such file or directory
to connect I must use:
sftp -s/usr/libexec/openssh/sftp-server
and in this way I specify the subsystem to launch on the remote machine.
So the situation look like this:
my sftp connect to the server and *tells* the open-ssh server to launch
a sftp, but it tells also where to found the program and it sends the
location of the file on the client box (macbookpro
/usr/libexec/sftp-server) that is different from the one on the server
(linux box: /usr/libexec/open-ssh/sftp-server).
So the questions:
*) Why such a thing? Why don't let the server on the linux box to choose
the sftp server location?
*) I must edit some files on the remote machine with the duo:
(ftp client) and textmate.
the problem is that only "SON OF FUGO" let me specify the additional
sftp options needed to connect. Is there any way to let, any other sftp application (cyberduck, transmit... ), know that there are particular
options to connect? perhaps via text config files.
Thanks for any help.
Bye.
