• Does Apple Remote Desktop work when monitor is asleep?

Does Apple Remote Desktop work when monitor is asleep? I set up a
router and a Mac Mini at a location far from home. The Mini is running
OSX 10.4 and ARD3 with VNC. While still at that location, I verified
that the Mini accepted VNC connections from outside the router (I set
up port forwarding on the router, of course, and VNC-ed into it from
outside the router). Now that I'm back home I can no longer VNC into
the Mac. It says "connection failed." The only thing I can think of is
that on the Mini the energy saver feature turned off the monitor. Is
there any chance that this would affect ARD or VNC?

    Thanks.
