I'm currently running 10.2.2 and want to upgrade. The 10.2.6 combo is
v large and my 2hr limited dial-up will not run to it. Similarly
10.2.3 is too large to download in a couple of hours. How can I
upgrade? BTW I have tried the pause function in Mozilla with no
success and tried a download manager, but it would not install because
it needed 10.2.6 :-(.
I used wget in Terminal.app to download the 10.2.6 update on a dialup connection. You can download wget from <
http://www.cosmos.ne.jp/~kaz6120/downloads/index.pl?class=unix_porting>.
After you have wget installed, open Terminal (located in the Utilities subfolder of your Applications folder) and type at the % prompt "wget
http://apple.speedera.net/download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/App le_Software_Updates/Mac_OS_X/downloads/061-0566.20030506.3w72q/2Z/MacOSX UpdateCombo10.2.6.dmg.bin" (without the quotes). Press the Return key
and the download will begin. When you're ready to stop downloading,
type command-period to stop. Then, when you want to pick up from where
you left off, open up the Terminal program and type "wget -c
http://apple.speedera.net/download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/App le_Software_Updates/Mac_OS_X/downloads/061-0566.20030506.3w72q/2Z/MacOSX UpdateCombo10.2.6.dmg.bin". This will resume the download from where
you left off. After you've finished, the downloaded file will be in
your home directory, not on your Desktop. You can then use StuffIt
Expander to open the file.

Emily
