I suppose it's just possible that Mac OS X doesn't like your RAM. It is

Thanks Matt
I've been reading some about this. From what I understand, I remove all
the RAM chips except one and give the install a try. If it works I can
put the other RAM chips back in? Would I be able to do things like
repair permissions? Do I have to repair permissions from the install
disk or can I repair them from the system once OS X is installed. I've
never installed OS X, these are just questions I've picked up reading.
I seem to remember trying to install OS X on this machine a few years
ago and the disk mounted. The installation failed but it turned out I
had a bad harddrive. Does any of this help?
Thanks again
Betty
