    Yes, it is a known problem that MT NW is unstable on Intel Macs.

    I asked Simon Fraser about this -- he is working on a new Universal
    version (runs natively on both PowerPC and Intel Macs). This is
    what he said:

    prefs file etc. before using this:

    A few things are broken (no plugins, About window broken,
    attachment icons draw in the wrong place, clicking on the buttons
    in the message window doesn't always work), but for the most part
    it seems OK.

    Hmm, then I guess I won't pursue my idea of cloning MT-NW into a new application. If he wasn't going to update it, I would have had to do something, because I don't like any of the other newsreaders I've tried recently.

    Thanks. I sent him a bug report the day I got my Intel iMac; he
    acknowledged the report, but didn't tell me about this beta.

    I'll give it a try.
