So updates to the test system...

Still havent found SIOREG.ZIP for sio ( no problems tho hasnt stopped working) Still havent heard back from defsol for frontdoor reg.
FD2 starts, intializes vmodem.
Have nodelist compiled
added a PHONE 1:105/81 awesome.abon.us:24556 to fdnode.ctl file and compiled
FD tries to export a test netmail to above and still errors about NO DIALTONE

Ideas?

Are all your commands for SIO and VMODEM correct in your CONFIG.SYS? Do you get an OK when FD loads? What INIT string are you using? ATZ| should be all you need.

Are you trying to use FD/DOS or FD/2? If FD/2, try FD/DOS and see if you get the same error.

Ok so changing to ATZ| eliminates the no dialtone error. So because there is a packet looking to go out it immediatley pulls up the dialing window and just stays there nothing happens, while watching the vmodem window there is nothing happening there in the way of erors, it does show the comport active tho. Is there somewhere to define in FD that this indeed is internet dialing?

I suppose I could try that... I just feel like im missing something tho... Is there any port settings for vmodem that you are aware of? I think I need to find someones fdnode.ctl to make sure I have that piece correct.

It's been over 25 years since I ran the BBS under OS/2. My memory is a bit sketchy .... sorry.

Just what the docs says there is.

I have a file called FULLPACK and FULLOS2.ZIP that I SWORE by when I run the BBS under OS/2. Maybe that will help. Grab it from the address below.
