    And many times drivers are distracted by any number of things:
    phones, texting, playing with that infotainment business, their minds off in space somewhere, etc.

    things that demand my attention.

    Far too often I see (and hear before I see the car) with the windows up
    and "music" so loud the car is vibrating from the sound.

    If a call comes in on the cellphone, if I can't pull off the road and park to answer it, I ignore it. Or, if it's a number I don't recognize, I ignore it regardless.

    My phone was in the console or laying on the passengers seat and if it
    rang, and I felt like it, I would glance at it, but generally it was ignored until I had time to look at it.
    The reason I even had it there was for the camera in case I saw something
    I wanted to get a shot of. But even then waking up the phone, pushing the camera button and all whatever I wanted a picture of was already past.

    I've been getting slammed by all these fraudulent calls,

    I have a bulletin on the BBS with a whole slew of phone numbers that folks should BLOCK in their smartphones.

    The problem with that is those people keep changing the number so if one
    is blocked they just use another number.

    It's a friggin' earthquake!! Those folks have to be deaf...or the
    pulsing beat is the only thing they can comprehend.

    While the scammers are likely to change their numbers more than one
    changes their underwear, I'm going to keep blocking those numbers. If
    someone leaves me voice mail, and I recognize it as a legitimate call,
    I'll put it in my contacts, then call them back. I wish there was a
    utility to automatically deny an incoming call, unless it was in their contacts..or if only the number (no name) shows up. Basically, it'd
    send the call to voice mail.

    I'll just keep adding to the list. I figure if one number gets "freed
    up", another scammer will just snag it. That's the same with website domains...those that expire get snagged and redone for nefarious means
    (i.e. made into a porn site).

    OK, I'll have a look at it later next week. After a week with 2
    back to back winter storms that dropped 2 feet of snow on portions
    of Arkansas (including the Little Rock area), we're forecast to get
    rain and thunderstorms the next several days...which will lead to
    downtime to protect from lightning...and flooding rain. At least
    I'm high enough where flooding isn't an issue. However, if the 6
    inches of rain was the liquid equivalent of snow with a 10 to 1
    ratiom, that'd mean 5 feet of snow on the ground. Arkansas would
    NOT move for a month!! But, spring means tornado season for us.

    On another note, I had been using the Classic Phone Tools program
    that came with the US Robotics V.92 56K External Fax Modem on the
    VoIP Line. But, I'm thinking of switching back to Argus as a BBS
    frontend, and have it load the BBS if it's a data caller...as well
    as possibly taking faxes. If that would work, I could get dial-up
    access again.
