    I'm just wondering....

Can we get Mystic to play a sound/Wav file at some point during the login/on process?

    Thanx

Yes you can have it run a command line that will play basically any type of sound file you want. The package manager may have a "play" or "aplay" utility that you can use I think those are popular choices.

Thank you for replying on my question... But if I understand your response
... I did not want to hear the sound myself but rather have the user hear it. I have a wav file of a 56K modem... I just thought it would be cool for that to play during a terminal connect.

I play said file when people connect via HTML...

BBSes don't usually stream audio :)

there was one term someone was working on with an out-of-band data channel that did some extra stuff like that, but it's extremely non-standard

Sorry about that yes I misunderstood you.

There is no standard way to play a .WAV over the commection but we could build something that would do it. The problem is it would only work on terminals that support it. So for example I could make NetRunner do it, but the user would have to be using a combination of NetRunner and Mystic to make it work.

Who knows where this would go... I personally think it's cool to hear the modem sound when you connect to the web server ... This would be cool though... could add sound to some games and all kinds of things...
