Hello Everybody,
With quarterback Aaron Rodgers out for the year with an
achilles tendon injury, Jets fans everywhere thought their
world had come to an end. Even though Zach Wilson did save
the night, allowing the Jets to escape with a win over the
Bills, thanks to a Jets player returning a punt in overtime
for a touchdown.
However, Zach Wilson is no Tom Brady. And the Jets owner
knows it. As well as Joe Namath. So what is the solution?
Well, the owner reached out to Tom Brady and made him an
offer. An offer he thought Terrific Tom would not refuse.
And what kind of response did he get? "No way in hell."
Can't say I blame him. Tom already came out of retirement
once. And now, at age 46, he is not about to do the same
thing again. I mean, the last time he did a damfool thing
like that it cost him his marriage. No way he was going
to make the same mistake twice.
I am sure Joe Namath would do it, but lets get real. Joe
is the same age as the other Joe, who is president. And we
do not want any defensive lineman come smashing into Joe,
as I guarantee that would put a quick end to Broadway Joe.
So who do we have left?
Carson Wentz is still around. Not sure any team wants him.
But I am sure he would like to play. Even for the Jets.
Joe Flacco is also still around. A former Jet, he would
love to get his old job back. If only he can still throw
the ball, much less with any kind of accuracy.
Matt Ryan can throw the ball. Really far. What he hits
with the football is anybody's guess. But he can throw it.
Nick Foles. The only backup quarterback good enough to win
a Super Bowl. And then get traded to another team afterwards.
I am not even going to mention the quarterback once known
as Dilfer. Not sure what he is known as today, but it isn't
nice.
We also have Drew Brees. But he is retired. Same as Tom Brady.
Except Drew is still married. And we know what his wife will do
if Drew goes back to playing football. So the Jets can forget
about getting Drew Brees.
It is true the Jets have a backup quarterback to what they have
now. But let's face it. Tim Boyle will never cut it as a starting
quarterback. Not even sure if he can handle things as a backup.
However -
While it might seem Jets quarterback choices are limited to players
who are old, broken, or combination thereof, there is one exception.
And that one exception has stepped forward, making an offer no Jet
fan, player, or coach can refuse.
You heard that right.
All is not lost.
There is an answer to all Jets prayers.
Colin Kaepernick to rescue Jets.
What a true American patriot.
And to think he made that offer on Patriot Day.
That's right. 9-11.
The day we all remember oh so well.
Let's all take a knee, guys.
In honor of our Flag.
For Life,
Lee
