• Arti: The Future of Tor

*Arti* is a new Tor implementation written in /Rust/, intended to
eventually replace the current C Tor implementation. Rust improves
memory safety, eliminates many common vulnerability classes, and enables
a more modular, auditable, and embeddable codebase.

Arti already supports proxy operation, censorship circumvention, onion services, and mitigations against side-channel, traffic-analysis, and denial-of-service attacks. However, it cannot yet operate as a relay or directory authority, so replacing C Tor completely will still require
    several years.

Vanguards are another important improvement. Vanguards-Lite uses one
additional layer of relatively stable relays and is suitable for clients
and short-lived onion services. Full Vanguards adds two layers and
provides stronger guard-discovery protection for persistent onion
services, at the cost of additional latency, complexity, and longer
    exposure to the same relays.

Arti modernizes and strengthens Tor, *but it cannot eliminate Sybil
attacks*, hostile relay operators, or global traffic correlation. Those problems also require greater network diversity, improved detection of suspicious relays, and careful path-selection policies.

    By the way,
It's not going to resolve global threats.

It's good for hiding from ISPs though
