    Bob travels a lot and does not want to store his key pair and
    hostname file on his device, because he is afraid of border
    control, that they may find this information for his Tor Hidden
    Service, when using Onion Courier.

    That's why he's using a deterministic onion address, where he
    only needs to remember his password and salt.

    On of my favourite uses for tor is as an alternative to DNS by using
    hidden services.

    Have you ever managed to get the nr of hops down to 1? Having 6 hops in between is slow sometimes.

    Well, no, with Onion Courier I can get many more hops
    and it increases the latency only by a few seconds.

    This seems nifty. Perhaps it could be also be used with other programs that=
    utilize hidden Onion services.

    Is there any easy way to generate the Onion keys and run Tor without ever w= riting the keys to disk?

    I don*t understand what you mean. The program genrates the key for Tor.
    Tor only generates keys once as soon as you edit the torrc file and restart Tor.

    It is also useful for Ed25519 signing and encryption keys,
    thus keeping the keys 'in your head', when traveling. :-)
