    Hi!

I have a bunch of RAMFactor cards that test OK, using the AE test
program, in a IIe. But none of those cards work in either ROM 01 IIgs
that I tried. What am I doing wrong? Do I need a ROM 03 IIgs?

I did some Googling when I discovered I bought a lot of
cards that may contain a RamFactor and also have a friend
who is trading me one for other things, and found that most
everything referring to the RamFactor memory card is for
IIe. I think the IIgs only accepts Ram cards in the memory
expansion slot, but I am not sure. How many of those cards
have you got? I mean, what is "a bunch"?

I've used the ramfactor in both a ROM 1 and a ROM 3 with no difficulty.
Just make sure the slot you install it in is set to "Your Card". If
you're using GSOS it'll show up on the desktop as a RAMdisk. If you're
running ProDOS 8 then it'll show up as a RAMdisk in whatever slot you
    have it in.

The ramfactor isn't a particularly fast card. If you have a hard drive,
it may be faster than the ramfactor. The ramfast SCSI card with a fast
hard drive easily beats the ramfactor. I never tried comparing the
ramfactor with other SCSI or ide cards so I don't know how it compares
    to them for speed.

RamFactor works on any Apple II with expansion slot.
