A fair while back I converted most of my 3.5" drives to SuperDrives
but I left a few in case I should someday run across a program that
was incompatible. I mean incompatible with a SuperDrive acting as
an 800k drive connected to a IIgs disk port. Anyone know of any
    such programs?

Apparently nibble editors are one such class--the Copy II Plus
3.5" bit copy won't work with Superdrives.

Won't work with SuperDrives, or won't work with the SuperDrive controller?

My (possibly flawed) understanding was that a SuperDrive plugged into a IIgs port was physically indistinguishable from an 800K drive.

    You are, of course, correct!

It's the controller that prevents direct access to the drive signals.

I had some problems with FTA demos trying to access a Pascal boot program
that was overwritten by the SuperDrive controller (or something). End
result was that trying to boot FTA stuff resulted in getting a test program
for the SuperDrive instead of, say, Modulae. :-)

    Cheers

I was wondering how indistinguishable it is. The only software I can
think of that knows there's anything other than an 800k drive attached
    is the AEHD driver.
