FishWings does not support viewing of GIF or MAC PIC files but you should have
been able to view and print DHR, HGR, a couple of types of SHR graphics files and Apple IIgs icons. I haven't had any report of a problem with DHRs before.
Could you send me an email (remove the NOSPAM) with some more information like
what preferences you had set and which version of Windows you are running. It
would also be a real help if you could attach a disk image with a problem DHR file on it.
I am to the understanding that Andy's CiderPress allows viewing of graphics files.

FWIW, FishWings worked fine for me on HR and DHR. The main difference between FW and CP is that CP handles half-pixel shifting for hires and
has selectable DHR conversion modes.
Thanks for the feedback Andy. FishWings stores the user preferences in an ".ini" file in the FishWings directory. I recently heard (but have beenunable
to confirm) that Windows XP professional, by default, does not allow aprogram
to write to a file in its own directory. If that is true it couldpossibly
cause the problems mentioned by Michael.

I'm sorry you are having trouble with viewing DHR files with FishWings. I tested the latest version of FishWings on Windows 95, Windows Me andWindows XP
Home Edition before it was released. No one has reported a problem with Windows 98 till now. Without knowing how you have your preferences setand
what files you are trying to view it is pretty hard to figure out what the problem is.
Are you able to view the graphics files on the disk images that come with FishWings?
No; I was trying to view the graphics files that come with FishWings when I had
the big black rectangle problem.
The only way I am able to duplicate your problem is by setting thepreferences
so that I am viewing the files as a hex/ASCII screen dump and then settingboth
text and background to black.
I can e-mail you any settings files that you think are appropriate.
Well, I've been experimenting and I just found a bug. I get the black rectangle problem if I set my number of screen colors to 256 instead of32, 24
or 16 bit color.definitely a
Do you have the screen colors set this low? In any case this is
bug in FishWings. I will try to fix it for the next version release.
