Hi!
I just recently bought a (overpriced) Norwegian C128D (plastic model) on
one of the local auction web sites. When compared to my Swedish C128 and
DCR, it has one very interesting feature: When I switch the character set
in C64 mode, it resets the keyboard layout to the original US one. The
Swedish 128s keep the (crippled) Swedish layout in 64 mode even when it switches out the keymap.
Does anyone know if the 64 kernel ROMs are duplicated also in the Swedish 128s, and if it would be possible to patch it to do this as well? That
would be very useful as the Swedish 64 keyboard layouts lack a few very
useful characters.
I also notice that the Norwegian charset looks like a PET one (thin lines), and thus doesn't look that good in 40-column mode. But it *is* not easy to
fit the letter Æ in a 8×8 matrix when using thick lines and still have it
look good, so I can understand why they opted for this solution.
