The title screen called itself GAK, can't find anything about it on
the internet. It was a game construction kit that made overhead view
rpg like games (it's not as rpg like as ACS can get).
if i can recall correctly you could even load the finished game up
    without loading the kit itself.

i got the game from someone in northeast ohio.. i thought it could be
a prototype or just something that someone local to that area wrote
    and passed around by hand.

if anyone has any information about this game i would love to hear it
    :)

AFAIK, PC 5.25" drives are physically incapabale of reading 1541 disks, so
you need to find some other means, like a FD2000/1581 and 1581copy, a x1541 cable like you mentioned, or an ethernet/serial connection between the PC
and C64 along with some transfer program.

There is a "hack" to make a 1541 read an old PC floppy format. The only
reference I've ever seen about it, claimed it didn't work and the drive
    was
useless afterwards. I can't vouch for either the hack or the persons
skills/ability that tried to make the hack work ?!?! I once consider
    trying it,
as I have approx 6-8 1541s laying around, but have yet undertaken the >project.

oh yeah, I forgot about 1541-reads-dos. :) I did that to my 1541, and it >worked just fine. Haven't needed it since getting my FD2000 and nullmodem >hookup, though. I've since installed JiffyDOS in that same 1541, and it >still plugs along without a hitch.

thanks for the helpful information, after payday and a trip to radio
shack i might have a (seemingly) rare game creation kit to show
everyone... providing my efforts to find it's copyright holder fail :P

i'm actually more concerned with it's preservation.. it seems that
nobody knows what the hell this GAK is :)
