• How To Extract T64, Or Convert To D64 ???

    From Glenn P.,@C128User@FVI.Net to comp.sys.cbm on Saturday, July 19, 2003 04:12:27
    From Newsgroup: comp.sys.cbm

    I have a genuine, bona-fide C-128. I do not use emulators.

I found a game on the 'Net in "T64" form and haven't God's own notion of how
to extract it. "D64"'s I can handle, but I've never HEARD of "T64"'s.

Can anyone here refer me to a program that will extract the contents of a
    T64? Or convert it to a D64?

Any assistance would be MUCH appreciated... :/

T64 = tape image, a similar thing to how a D64 is. You can use Star
Commander to transfer the program file(s) from a T64 into a blank D64.
Then naturally either use the D64 in an emulator, or the well
documented cables to transfer the image onto a real floppy.

If Star Commander is that program that lets you use a special cable to
transfer between a PC and a C64, I haven't got either the prgram OR the
cable, and couldn't use the latter if I had it, as all ports are in use
    and I don't dare tamper.

    Any other suggestions???

Star Commander will convert .t64 to .d64, then you can use whatever you use when you said ""D64"'s I can handle".

That would certainly suffice. Where do I find Star Commander? How much
does it cost? I assume this is a Windows program; does it work under
    Win95?

    Hi,

I use 64copy and 1581 copy for all file handling and transferring from t64 and d64 to my real 128 where even possible.

Otherwise, I copy the entire d64 images to a 1581 image and use the excellent geoBeap!

If you are having trouble and need someone to transfer the T64 to a D64 let
me know. I can do it for you. I use a Amiga computer to do it. Never used Star Commander.

    Hy

Take a look at this site:
    http://www.geocities.com/cdsixfour/t64ext.htm

I use it often, but it's written in basic and it's kinds slow, but at
    least it works !
