Immediately back up all your data. Try and make a determination if
anything important to you is missing.
First, what Alan said. Did you run Disk Utility from the recovery
partition? I have found DU frequently has problems fixing the volume
from which it is launched. If you don't have a recovery partition, try mounting it on another Mac using Firewire and running DU from that Mac.
I have found these errors are usually less severe then they sound.
Some free block count off by one for example.

I've been trying to bring back to life a 27in iMac which was destined
for the recycling centre!
What I ended up doing was use a Time Machine backup
from one of my /own/ iMacs and 'Restored' this faulty machine from that!
It worked! ????
