When I installed my SSD and moved my data on it, I kept the spinning
disk that used to have that data intact and started to think of
strategies should the SSD have "sudden infant death" say 3 days later.
So far, with Time Machine, I have only restored specific files, with a
"file already exist, replace, create copy or skip" type of dialogue for
each (or all files).
lets assume my SSD failed, so I would want to return to my spinning
drive that had 3 days old data. (lets assume both SSD and spinning drive
have same volume name).
How would I go about applying time machine backups of the SSD of only
files modified since the date on the spinning drive?
Or at the only options with Time Machine to either restore specific files/folders or the whole thing, with no "incremental" restore
capability even though it does incremental backup?
If it has incremental restore capability, how do I find it?
